According to a legend acupuncture was discovered accidentally. Chinese warriors reported to be relieved of pain when arrows hit them. Taking it from there during the last 4000 years or so chinese doctors went on to develop a healing system called acupuncture.
The basic assumption in chinese medicine is the existence of two poles Yin and Yan that form the world and therefore also the human body. Both together in balance generate the life energy Qi.If Yin and Yan are not in balance with each other the flow of Qi is disturbed which often is the cause of illness, pain or other conditions. The chinese medicine tries to recreate and retain a healthy balance between Yin and Yan.
Qi travels in your body on 14 so called meridians. On these meridians there are 361 classical acupuncture points and up to 1500 extra acupuncture points. According to the condition the needles will be set in up to 50 points per session.
Since many years now I have used this method of treatment successfully on the following conditions:
Acupuncture belongs to the so-called "Igelleistungen" which means the health insurance will not pay for these treatments. Newly however there is a scheme by the insurances under certain circumstances to bear the cost of acupunctural treatments. Please ask for advice in my Praxis.
